  1. ok i have a hp pentium 3 700 mhz computer...i have never had a problem making vcds with virtualdub tmpgenc and nero express to burn them...now i cant do anything since i had to go back to windows me from windows xp...it seems i cant save mpg even though i click save mpg it keeps coming out as movie clip only and i cant get it to not do it..what do i do?thank you

  2. If this problem is what I think it is (Windows file descriptions based on file extensions), installing a software DVD player like Power DVD should fix it.

    OR...
    In Windows explorer, somewhere in the menus (not sure exactly where this is in ME), you should see folder options or something like that. Open that up and clear the box that says 'hide file extensions for known file types'. Then you can see the real file extension, not what kind of file windows thinks it is!

    Why would you have to downgrade back to ME? I would much rather stay with XP.

  6. becuase i couldnt get updates for it and it had problems with the screen shutting off...i know i hate me but i have no choice...

    screen shutting off? Did you try the 'power options' in control panel to 'always' on? Trust me...you need to reinstall XP. Only my opinion so dont be offended!

  9. i spoke to soon...why is nero express tryin to encode my file?beofre when i put the mpeg file in it it took 5 minutes to burn...now its saying 3 hours to transcode???what is worng with this ?

    it had to do with something with the drivers...i had a ripped copy and i couldnt get anything to fix it

    Its onbviosuly non-compliant. Select the option to continue with non-compliant video or (if you really must) let it re-encode.

  13. well i went back and used nero 5.5.9.9 and everything works good...i guess its better wiht what you know instead of upgrading
