  3. I have a Panasonic RV31 player (almost exactly the same as yours). I have had no problems at all with Fuji (TYG01) and TDK (RITEKG04). Both of these are 4X DVD-R's. I have also had no problems at all using DVD+RW's in my RV31. I have tried Fuji (RICOHJPNW01) 2.4X and Verbatim (MCC A01) 2.4X.

I had tons of problems with the other DVD-R's I bought which were also TDK but had a media code of MXLRG01. Every single one of them burned fine but if I scan the disc using Nero or DVDInfoPro they all have errors.

I know you can buy RITEKG04's that are inkjet printable. They come highly recommending according to most of my reading here.

  6. I have had 100% success with Taiyo Yuden discs in my A06.

  7. One of the best discs in my opinon and from what I've read is the Ritek G04. TDK is using them now too and putting their name on it. If you don't want to spend the money on a 4x disc (I wouldn't record a movie in 4x and most people wouldn't either), I would recommend getting the Ritek G03 disc. The A06 burns it a 2x speed and it seems to be the media of choice right now. I remember a month or two ago the demand was so high that the price of this media doubled! It can be had for around $85 delivered. Check out rima.com, supermediastore.com or mertiline.com Good luck

  9. Something to do with the integrity of the movie. Some people belive that a slower burn will cause lesser problems and skipping etc. They said the same thing with music cds at 12x speed. Now everyone's burning at 52x speed. I guess better media?

  10. If the discs are 4x, & they are decent quality discs, (like ritek GO4 or Taiyo Yuden) then burning movies at 4x shouldn't hinder your results in the slightest,
(Unless your burner has been kaned hard & is on it's way out!)

Also, the latest burners on the market are way better then they were 2 to 3 yrs ago, in general they will burn for longer before developing problems.

  11. RITEKG04

If there are probs with the discs in players it comes down to the way how the disc is burnt. Some players are picky, some aren't.

The most compatible discs in my experience are made by doing an image with ImgTools classic and then burn them with whatever burning software you like. I use DVDDecrypter.

I agree, converting to image file is the way to go

  14. Probably you want to try Prodisc 2X DVD-R from supermediastore.com. The Prodisc discs are Pioneer Certified.
