    hi, i'm new to the whole video conversion thing.
    i was hoping someone could point me in the right direction.
    what is the best tool for converting avi files to mpeg2? i already have hero video convert, and winmpeg convert, but neither of them seem to work for me. is there a quicker/ easier way to do this?

    Look at the guides on the left.

    There are dozens of different ways to do this, and many of them have been well covered in the guides.
