THIS FORUM ROCKS. I have learned almost everything I know about burning DVD's, authoring, encoding, what works, and what doesn't from this forum. I don't know who started it or who runs it or whatever but wow what an unbelievable wealth of info and help this site provides. Thanks ya'll. I am told someone named Baldrick started the site. Keep up the good work. Thanks again!

This is who started the site:
Baldrick - Webmaster
I'm the owner, founder and webmaster of this site. As such I updates and fixes almost everything on this site, from updating the DVD Players compatibility list, keep all links working to write reviews. I'm also responsible for the design, the coding behind the dvd players, capture cards, dvd writers, dvd media and dvd hacks lists and the modified phpBB forum so send any site feedback to me, bad or good. I also spend some time in our forum as an Adminstrator to lock, remove topics and such but of course with a lot of help from all our great forum moderators(see below), without them we wouldn't have a such great forum. Now and then I also write basic how to guides with my lousy english. My real name, yes Baldrick is only a nickname, is Stefan Edstrom and I live in northern Sweden.

So in what way(s) is it best?
1) Comprehensive tool list, and comments from users.
2) An amazing number of guides, covering just about every tool in almost every combination. Most of them very clear and concise.
3) From writers to media to players, it's all covered. Noob info to advanced.
4) A VERY lively and active forum. It is also well policed. This is quite important, as a forum can degenerate quickly into something worse than worthless.
I could go on... Anyway, a hearty WELL DONE to Baldrick and everyone else who has contributed to making this site what it is today.Pull! Bang! Darn! -

I couldn't even spell VCD before I found this site. It is an exception to the Internet world. The content is matched nowhere else in cyberspace, and the moderators manage to keep the Forum moving without the carnage I've come to expect from other places.
Kudos to Baldrick and Co.

Do you also notice that a lot of major sites that deal with dvd players like to link to this site for dvd player compatability? It's gotta be the only one out here or at least the largest compatability site.

Talk about fun! My boss handed me her camcorder on a Friday and I handed her a Promotional DVD on Monday morning. Instant godlike stature! Now I've been doing video on a computer for over 6 years, but this was my first DV project. Guess where I came to get teh DV capture app? That's right, Doom9.org..........no wait!
Let's say this site has lead me down paths I had avoided in the past. And I like a challenge (WMV9 with DRM to DVD anyone?). Heck, I remember when ASF was king and NANDUB was the greatest thing since bulk CDRS!!!
Backing up DVD's is remarkable easy compared to doing SVCD's by hand. This site is amazingly topical, which is a good thing!!!!To Be, Or, Not To Be, That, Is The Gazorgan Plan -
