  1. I was thinking about getting either the Sony 510 or Pio 106, but these 2 burners are about $40 less then I could get the Sony or Pio at.

These 2 are on sale tomorrow 6am - NOON.
    Lite-On LDW-411S ($91.47 - after tax, and 2 mail in rebates)
Emprex EDW4020 ($86.60 - after tax, no rebate)

    These are everyday prices...
    Sony DRU510A ($135.00 - after $30. rebate)
    Pioneer DVR-106 ($129.00)

I read about the Lite-On drive here and it has some mixed reviews, but the Emprex was not even listed... hummmmmmmmm....

  2. From what I could find, the emprex is a version of the BTC DRW 1004IM ... which is getting mixed reviews ...

Still ... with Fry's return policy, I might give it a shot !

The NEC ND-1300A is an excellent DVD burner that supports both DVD-R and DVD+R at 4x as well as DVD-RW and DVD+RW

It has a proven track record and is cheaper though as good as the SONY and PIONEER models.

In fact most on-line stores have the NEC ND-1300A for around $105.00

Just take a look see on PRICEGRABBER.COM for the lowest price.

  5. From what I have read, alot of the problems with the 411s have been resolved with the latest firmware upgrade (around Nov 11th). I assume The $80 on the 411s is on the Best buy deal. Here's a review of the 411s.

I think the 411s $80 deal is good to 11/29.

  6. Office max has a micro advantage dual format drive for 79.99 after rebates this week. Someone in another thread said it was a rebagged NEC. Not sure if it's true but the price was to good to pass up.
