It tells me it is copy protected and stops on DVD Shrink as well as DVD Decrypter.

I forgot to say that it is brand new and plays fine on my tabletop dvd player.

I just backed mine up using DVD Decrypter and DVD2One without any problem. No idea what it could be.

One of the common "fixes" for something like this is to start playing the DVD in a software DVD player, then while playing go into Shrink, close the player down, then try ripping. If that doesn't work try using DVDDecrypter or Smartripper.

I tried this and no luck. Would it help to try another X2 dvd, I can borrow it from a friend or is this how another disk would work as well?HELP![/quote] -
download DVD Region-Free, i installed it and it fixed the exact problem you were saying about, someone else also had this problem. Try it out, and can you tell us all if this fixes the problem

Personally I use IC7. It does a better job. I find the VOB files are sometimes out of wack when you use DVD Shrink. When I use Nero or record now max the movie stops. I most recently used IC7 to burn the file to dvd, (VIDEO_TS). The end result was I had a more stable disc and it was more compatible then using the other programs to burn it.
It works good after you do a master disc of HOME movies in this way and use record now max to make duplicates.
Hope this help a newbie, been there before. -
Ripped with DVD Decryptor and Shrank with DVD Shrink and it works without a hic cup

Thanks. -
Just out of curiosity I ripped xmen 2 with both shrink and decrpyter and both ripped just fine, so i dunno. On the subject of xmen2, would it be harmfull to scan the dvd? I have a bunch of custom labels but I want the same exact one but really squeamish about putting my new dvd on the scanner. Cant find any real scans of the origonal, so this is my only option for the same label. Anywayz, laterzzzzz

DVDShrink doesn't read IFO rips.
It does read file-mode rips. Go figure?
What is DVDDecryptor really used for? Probably for Netflix so you can send them out the same daywithout having to spend the transcoding time.

aviationwiz, thanks for the reply. Ive thought of that actually, but I dont have the balls to do it. LOL. Ive taken some pics of the actual disc, but its not as good as what a scan would give me.
