    WHen you stick a disc in...does it make a kinda loud spin up noise? Just wanna know if thats normal. None of my other drives do that.

    it IS normal...don't know how the other poster said there's doesn't..when I know three other people with the same drive. All of theirs also sound the same, exact way. Funny..because I was concerned about the SAME thing when I upgraded from the 163D to the 166S.

    The noise is perfectly normal..don't sweat it.
