    walmart has the Apex DVD player for $29.87 from 6am-11am Friday Nov.28th. Not sure of the model, but at this price i'm definitely getting one. my Apex 500 works great on alot of different media.

    reviews are mixed on this puppy. Ill keep looking. so far the jvc xvn33sl for $55.00 looks like my unit to get so far.

    yeah, but PROGRESSIVE is meaningless if you're using on a straight
    tv set. In fact, you'll see artifacts under some scenes, on a standard tv.

    The progressive will probably look better when connected to a PROGRESSIVE
    tv set

    FYI.. My Durabrand SS w/DVD player is progressive, and connected to my
    13" tv set.
