  1. I asked this question last night.

    I burnt a svcd successfully but i found that my dvd does not support svcd.
    Am I cooked? it does support vcd, but I need the svcd qulity.

  2. yes you pretty much are cooked, the last thing i could recommend you do is encode in MPEG-1 format at 480x480. this way your player would recognise it as a VCD, but it would have SVCD quality because of the higher Res. this is all i can recommend. its a long shot, try it, but im not sure if it will work, because there is no correct aspect ratio for Mpeg-1 480x480 that shows on TV. try it anyway, it might just work

    Wait a minute. Try this before you're going to reencode. Demultiplex the MPEG-2 file with TMPG.
    Multiplex with TMPG as Video-CD(non-standard).
    Author and burn as VCD.
