  1. Hi, I've just got a new Pioneer OEM AO6 (aka the 106). I've got a Dell Inspiron 4150 Laptop. So I've got a USB 2.0 external kit that I installed the burner in, and I plugged it into my USB 2.0 pmcia card, and XP recognized it and installed all drivers, i thouhgt great no problem.... I burned my first DVD (these are video files) on a DVD-RW just to be safe. No problems. I then tried to burn one onto a DVD-R (Ritek 4x Discs), with Nero 6. It buffered all the info up, and it got to the lead in status on the drive, and then it just sits there. The progress bar never gets past 0%. And it ruins the disc too. I've done this over and over, to no avail. I also reformatted my harddrive, and reinstalled everything, and it still gives me the same problem! Yet it burns dvd-rw fine. I'm really confused. Is this a problem with my media? my burner? nero? my computer in general? the usb 2.0 external kit? Please help I'm desperate!

  2. try copytodvd see if you still have the problem. It might be nero also. if you still have the problem change the media and if you still have the problem it might be the AO6

  4. Hi miragetm,

What is the brand of your USB 2.0 enclosure? I am also interested in getting one for my A06. Can you burn at 4x? Does it play well in your DVD player?

    Thanks,
