    hi I have a dvd that I want to back up the problem is that the dvd I have is in english (which is good) but it has english subtitles permantly on it, I hate the subtitles and want to remove them is there a way to da this

    Rip the video and audio tracks you want to keep, then reauthor without any subs. If the DVD is not a commercial release, then the subs may be encoded with the picture - then you're basically f*cked as the only way to get rid of it is to reencode and chopping that part of the picture off.
