I used the above program to convert a .avi video captures with Windows Movie maker, and it worked fine. Now I'm trying it with another movie captured the same way and it says it can't open it. What gives?

  2. what audio is in the original avi file? is it mpeg layer 3 or ac3? if it's ac3 try converting the ac3 file into .wav. you can find out what audio the avi file is using by downloading gspot. if it is ac3 then download ac3tool that will convert it into wav.
    hope thats of help.

Not sure about the audio - I used firewire to capture the avi file from my zr70 using Windows movie maker. The thing is, the first time I did it, I had no problems and this is the exact same kind of file. The only difference I notice is that the file itself has a windows media logo as opposed to the first frame of the film - which the first one had.
