  1. I am looking for a capture card that has the following:
    SVIDEO IN
    RCA L (left) Audio IN
    RCA R (right) Audio IN

I have been looking at pictures and descriptions on the MFG's sites, but can't totally tell..... so i thought I would ask some of you as card owners.

Also are there any with optical in?

    Thanks!

Quite a few have SVHS in but I don't know of any (Probably are some), that have audio in. That is usually handled by the sound card.

  3. Any ATI All-in-Wonder card has the stereo RCA inputs. Many soundcards also offer optical input, but for most this is usable for PCM only. If you want do record AC-3 directly there is a very limited selection of cards which will do this.

  4. I should have also said that I have no AGP slot so I am strictly looking for a PCI card.

I tried a pinnacle card, but using the coax the picture was a bit fuzzy compared to svideo.

That is why I am looking for a card with svideo and rca's (for sound). That way coming out of my DTV receiver I can take the video through svideo and the sound through the RCA's.

Doesn't sound like there is a card out there that meets my needs...huh?

You could probably do a search on Ebay and find several ATI All-in-Wonder PCI cards. I used one of the older 128 PRO cards for a long time till I upgraded my mobo to one with an AGP slot...and I still use an All-in-Wonder with this system...

  6. Hi,

The Canopus ADVC 50 and 100 has what you are looking for. My ADVC50 has RCA, svideo and DV inputs. But the Canopus range are a bit more expensive then others, i guess

    Cheers,
    feeras

the AverMedia DVD EZMaker card I use has composite and S-video input, but no audio inputs - audio is handled by the sound card.

still, a decent card on the cheap cheap...
