YMPEG is a new MPEG1/MPEG2 codec/encoder. I'm testing it right now, it is an early beta so not all features are added yet and virtualdub crashed when I tested it...but I got it working now.

I added the YMPEG download to the tools section, it is just temporarily until the author finds a new better host.

When I look in my list of installed video codecs it shows up but if you go to its properties it says the driver is missing or corrupt. I think this compile is no good.

ffvfw includes mpeg2enc (ffmpeg) and does basically the same thing that ympeg does. (I can't use ympeg since it requires floting point SSE instructions).

  18. Hi All,

Many thanks for reporting problem about not appearing YMPEG in VirtualDub. It is now fixed in new version (0.60) which you can download from my site (http://www.motiwala.com/ympeg.htm).

This was due to missing msvcr70.dll in XP. This was the reason why it worked for some and not for others. New build removes msvcr70 dependency. New build also has better checking for SSE support.

Please let me know if this resolves problem. Your feedback is crucial in improving YMPEG.

    Regards,
    Yusuf
