  1. Hey there,

I tried to use DVD2SVCD, all settings are filled in good. (printed out the "how to.."-guide on this site)

Audio, subtitles etc etc are done very good, but then the program is starting Cinema Craft Encoder SP 2.50.
And the message it says :

    Can't open CCE
    Program Handle 0

And then it stops. The location of CCE is good.
Any ideas why it stops encoding ??

  2. Well, I have a similar problem. For me it stops in the middle of the encoding. Do you also use WinXP?

  5. Well, i have an AMD Athlon 1400Mhz, 256MB, Win98.
Info on the site says :

    Supported CPU
    AMD AthlonTM MP processor
    Mobile AMD AthlonTM 4 processor
    AMD AthlonTM processor
AMD DuronTM processor (including mobile processor)

    Main memory
    128 MB or greater

So that seems to be no problem.

  6. CCE works with an athlon, but it's kind of iffy... It crashes if you don't do sound, but the old version(2.5) that DVD2SVCD asks you to use will f!@# up if you do VBR with sound... And if you can't have the sweet multi-pass VBR, there's no reason to use CCE in the first place.

I gave up and said !@#$ CCE. I use TMPG. It's slower, but four hours or eight, either way I still have to do a movie overnight. The image quality is essentially the same, TMPG may be a little bit better.
