Suggestions buying projection tv

I am planning to purchase a prjection tv.
Can anyone recommend good afordable brand/model.

Hitachi

It has the magic focus. Once the factory default is set properly it's a snap to converg (convergence).

$1500 will get you a HDTV (hitachi) Widscreen projection.

I would really look into the size room it will sit in. Bigger is not always better.

I read some reviews , did some search in the net and finally decided to go for Hitachi or Sony..After I spoke to the sales person(in Ultimate Electronics) I started thinking about mitsubishi..I am really confused now..

SONY or Hitachi or Mitsubishi?

Your best bet is to try and get in contact with BJ_M, one of the moderators here. He is a wealth of experience on this matter and can probably answer any questions you have.

I haven't seen him around but it might pay to either email him and/or private messaging him. Also do a search on his name using the site search feature and you'll stumble across a few threads were similar questions have been asked and you'll also find some great tips on what to look for and what not.

My parents have a 51 inch sony projection TV and it's awesome. My aunt and uncle have a mitsubishi and that's pretty good too, but I like the sony better. I dont know about hitachi...I'm just speaking from experience.
