I muxed an M2V with an AC3 file, but got no audio. If TMPGEnc can't work with AC3, why was it an option under the Multiplex tab?

If TMPGEnc isn't the right tool for this, can someone suggest an alternative? I tried bbmpeg, but it wouldn't let me select an AC3 file.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Brian

TMPGEnc can't decode AC3, but it sure can mux it with m2v, afaik...
When you say "got no audio", what do you mean? Is there no audio track present in the mp2 system stream, or can't you hear any sound when you play it, and what do you use when playing the mp2?

I can't hear any sound when playing the resultant MPEG. I'm using RealOne Player, which is what I use to play all my MPEGs.

    Not sure what's going on....

Does realOne handle AC3 audio? What if you try a "real" soft DVD player like PowerDVD?

I too have the same question/problem as you. I used TMPGEnc Plus to mux my AC3 audio ( used Bsweet ) with my TMPGEnc encoded video. When I used my ATI flie player program that plays all my MPEG's I had no sound either.

I hope of the forum experts has wisdom for us both
Thank you, Thank you very much - Elvis

You could try mplex - it's included with the dvdauthor package among other stuff.

I imagine that the timecodes for the audio and the video don't match, so they are going to play (even though they both may be present).

Yeah, RealPlayer plays AC3 just fine. The size of the MPEG indicates the AC3 audio was muxed in, but still there's no sound. I have no idea what's going on...
