  2. Never bought them on-line but I have used about 500 of them (that is until I bought my Epson 900 CD/DVD printer). Thats a good price at $50 per 500 since they sell for $20 per 100 retail.

It is generally understood that you should not apply stick on labels to dvds. The labels can be unballanced and they can never be perfectly applied. Then your dvds can become unbalanced and give playback problems.

Used them - they will unbalance your DVD - not a problem with CD-Rs - making it unplayable. Also, if you mess up when applying them: You lose the disc. Went to the ultra-thin labels, then a Thermal Printer; finally bought an Epson 900 and glad I did.

  5. Strange I have 456 DVDR's labeled and not one is unbalanced, damn I'm good.

    Bob:

You must either be good (congratulations!!!)

    OR

    You've got an impressive applicator.

I've had some labels curl unexpectedly and roll up to meet the disc - voila', end of label application session. Return to burner. It was really very irritating when I had only a standalone recorder to produce discs.

I am impressed with the glue Neato uses - once applied, it stays that way.

BTW: I've only had to re-burn about 5 discs out of 200, but I admit the overall apearance of a printable compared to labeled makes it worth using inkjet printables.

I had used some Memorex labels: Much thinner than Neatos, frost white color, they produced an excellent final disc; never had one of those spin out -
Yes, I have seen one or two go unbalanced and not play properly: Usually on my laptop's DVD drive - never in a standalone....tolerances??

    Good Day

  7. I don't label much these days and just print directly with my Epson 900 however I still have about 120 or so blanks that will get labeled in time.

  10. The epson 900.......... what does the printing cost per dvd?
And do you need special printable dvd media?

  11. Epson has replaced the 900 with the R300 & the R300M. The R300 goes for $179 at Best Buy. I went to buy the 900 and came home with the R300. Does a professionally looking job on DVD labels.

Cost per DVD? Depends on what you spend on printable blank media and the cost of ink. The cost of ink is negligible.
