  1. I just bought an LG GSA-4040B DVD burner...on my old cd-rw drive, I could burn my 10x cd-rw's at 10x (obviously ). But I just tried 2 different brands (Sony and "compusa" cheapo brand, lol), and they burn successfully at 12x! The media's only 10x, why in the world is this going on?!

Be grateful for a small mercy, others have complained about CD burning with the LG 4040B, personnally I have a LiteON for CD'R's, why use the lazer for burning CD's, I'd prefer to wear it out on DVD's!.

  3. I think the 10x or 20x soforth are just tested speeds. And most media will let you burn a bit faster. Like I was able to use 48x cds and burn them at 52x with no issues. Well the drive died but I doubt it has anything to do with that.

  4. I had this with my tdk 32/10/40x cd burner. I did a few at 12x untill one gave me errors while burning so i stopped and went back down to 10x. Drive worked perfectly the last time i used it so i had no affect but if you can replace it just incase i would do it all the time.

  6. I think it might have been a reply to what I said about my CDR drive dying... not sure.

  7. Apparently, burning at 12x, the disk is not recognized by my cd player! so back down to 10 it is...
