I'm familiar w/ backing up my dvds w/ dvd shrink etc. I bought a panny E100 and would like to create fancy menus and transition between scenes using either a ram disc or dvd-r disc. I never really ever paid attention to the files when backing up my dvds; I just dragged everything to the VIDEO_TS folder and burned.

I plan on burning a movie made from my E100 to ram.

1. I heard that ram files are different (VRO files?). Do I just insert the disc in my computer and open dvdlab and it will transfer everything to the pc, or do I drag everything that is on the ram disc to a new folder on the PC, or use dvd decrypter?

2. I heard that I may have to rename "vob" files to a differenct extension. Can someone please explaing that

3. Can I insert a dvd-r disc and work on that w/ dvdlab?

4. I've read somewhat about demuxing. I guess that means getting video in sync w/ the audio. I don't have to do this do I if I'm bringing over a disc from the E100?

I don't want to do any re-encoding and am hoping to just create my menus and transitions and burn to a dvd-r. What other tools would I need besides dvdlab, and a burning program (I use recordnow Max)?

Any other input or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I realize some people get annoyed with newbies and I thank those in advance who reply.
