Why won't my DVD-Rom play SVCD's? It plays VCD's just fine. Am I missing a file or something?

    Thanks.

I have no problem playing interlaced sources with WinDVD but of course does a interlaced source look much better on a tv.

WinDVD plays interlaced SVCD, PowerDVD does not play SVCD at all. I haven't tried more software players.

When i play then with videolan i have a black screen and only the audio
Same thing with winDVD and i tought it was a common problem to play interlaced MPEG2

Yes I think so. I have a dvd interlaced, converted it to SVCD compliant MPEG-2 and did not deinterlace. So I believe it is interlaced SVCD. I don't know much about it, correct me if I am wrong.

  8. WinDVD and PowerDVD can play interlaced video just fine, but you'll see the artifacts. DVDs themselves are interlaced, at least the NTSC ones are.
