    I have a dvr-104 right now, but I think I wanna upgrade and sell this to a buddy of mine for $50. But I don't know which one to get. Are the 8x -R coming out anytime soon? I know the +R 8x are here. Should I wait for those?

    I can get the 106 (OEM) for $148 and the 510a (OEM) for $158.

    I have both the Sony 500ax and the Pioneer 106, and I prefer the pioneer over the Sony every time.

    Don't get me wrong the Sony is a great drive, but it only likes expensive media, and crashes every time i try to write to cheap media.

    But the pioneer writes to every media i have put in it so far without a problem.

    The Pioneer is deffo the best drive to get.
