  1. Hi all, hope this is the right forum.

I have started burning .avi files onto cds with Nero 5.5 (write speed 32x). The picture starts well but becomes pixel-jumpy after a while, usually at the center of the screen. It shimmers. The original .avis were of excellent quality.

Anything I can do to correct that?

    Specs:
    Samsung DVD/CDRW combo
    Verbatim cds
    Nero 5.5
    Win XP Pro

    TIA.

Does this happen with no matter what brand of disk you use?

What encoder do you use? If you let nero encode...I suggest you stop and use tmpgenc.

  4. I have Tmpgenc but have been using Nero to encode. Is there some problem with Nero? If I switch to Tmpgenc, do I also burn the CD with it?

    Thanks.

  5. Hi all.

I have tried to encode with Tmpgenc. I extracted the audio file in Virtualdub and ran the process, but the output file has no audio. Where did I go wrong?

    Tmpgenc Plus 2.5

    TIA.

Yes, it's the worst encoder out there.

Is the audio AC3? Try extracting with Goldwave, just load the avi and save.

You did scan for bad frames, right? See below if not.
