Okay folks. I am about to completely give up. Please save me!!! You can see my computer stats on the (computer details button). I successfully copied onto my hard drive the Harry Potter movie, using DVD Decrypter. Then, I used DVD Shrink to compress it, and finally Nero 5 to burn it. I have burnt the Harry Potter movie to both a + and - RW using my Pioneer burner. The problem? My Teac PL-D2000 regular home DVD player/receiver says "Bad Disc" and ejects the discs back out. Obviously I don't want to use a regular "R" and make coasters because blank DVDs are hella-expensive. I used the RW's because my player/receiver is supposed to be compatible.Any advice??? Baldrick? Anyone?

Looking at both of my discs in Windows Explorer, they both have the Audio_TS folder (which is empty), and the Video_TS folder, which contains all the vob/ifo/bup files. Is this not normal or something?

I beleive Nero may be your problem.
I've never had any luck with Nero, 5 or 6.
I now burn with Stomp Recordnow Max, and sometimes DVD Decrypter, and ALL my DVD+R(W)s have worked on all the players I've tried (even a couple that are very old). -
I have never used DVD Decrypter to make and burn an image file however I think what you would do is in the program goto mode/ISO/read to make the image file then mode/ISO/write to burn the image file. I use RecordNow Max to do my burns.

Fantastic, amigo. I will try burning with DVD Decrypter, and see how that works. You see, I went to the "DVD Players" link on the left side of the page to see what other people said about my Teac PL-D2000 DVD player/receiver and according to that, people have successfully played RW's on it. So naturally I assumed that everything would be "all good" using Nero 5. If this doesn't work.... then ay ay ay....
Anyways, thanks again for the advice. i will take your suggestion and I guess use RecordNow Max as a last resort.

Look in options or settings in Nero and I believe there are several settings for "UDF" (or something like that). I think in order to make a compatable DVDR you need to select the right one and I don't have a clue what it is.Artificial intelligence is no match for natural stupidity.
