I bought a Daewoo DVG-5200S DVD player. A very good player except for one problem. When playing a TV episode disk, about 50% of the time,it starts up incorrectly. It will stumble and lockup and then play with the audio out of synch. I called Daewoo's customer service and to their credit they called me back the same day. Their answer was quite un-satisfctory. They told me this was not a defect,"it is just the way the players computer handles that type of disk". I pointed out that I had three other DVD players that played these disks perfectly and that one of them was another Daewoo maodel. The customer service person just repeated the line. Am I wrong, isn't this a defect and what I'm getting from Daewoo's customer service is just some corporate "double speak"?
I bought DVG-5200S to replace a Cyberhome 402 that died. They both have one thing in common,a Media-Tek chipset,is this problem normal for the Media-Tek chipset? The Cyberhome would rarely display the same problem.

Likely DVD player issue (you said 50% of the time). Try replacing it or a repair option. Since this is model specific (with unknown disc) their tech support is the best way to go.
