  1. I've been using Pinnacle Instant copy 7, really happy with it so far, but it seems like all the guides for IC want you to burn with Nero or something else? Why not just use IC? It seems to work fine for me, is there a problem I don't know about?

Instant copy 7 does not create an audio folder in the root directory of the dvd.....some older dvd players require the folder to be there even though it is empty.

Instant Copy does in fact create an Audio_ts folder... you just have to make sure you have the current updates for IC7 or use IC8.

I use IC-7 to burn most of my -R DVDs. For some reason it doesn't like +R disks so I use Nero when I'm burning +R. With Instant Copy I could occasionally get it to burn a +R, but most of the time it would just hang up and either not burn anything (good- because I could still use the blank disk in Nero) or sometimes just burn a few megabytes (bad- the disk was no longer usable).

I don't burn with IC7 because I always check the DVD using Daemon Tools before I burn it. I do that to check to make sure menu structure is still alright and to check video quality and sound.

I mean really it only takes pdi2iso about 3 minutes to convert the files to ISO and about another 5 minutes to check the DVD. So spending 8 minutes is worth the cost of a DVD-R disc to me...just to be sure.

I also have Pinnacle Studio 8 video capture and editing software, but I have always had problems with it creating and burning DVD's so I don't exactly trust Pinnacle with that process.

But if it works for you then go for it. IC7 works for me even though 90% of this board says it's trash or DVD shrink is better...doesn't matter it works for me and all that is really important is that it works.

    nyplayer,

I realize that ic8 does......in fact that's what I use. But his question was regarding ic7 and a possible reason why ppl say to burn with another program. I think my answer was correct in that regards.
