I am trying to put some of my lower quality AVI/MPEG files to a VCD but on a DVD-R disc... basically TV shows so I can fit a whole season on one DVD rather than only 5 shows on 6 discs. Since the source files aren't the greatest quality, why convert them to a high quality DVD format...

I followed the directions here on how to do it... I had about 5 VCDs I previous made with Nero5.5 and grabbed the files from there to test as described in the directions. Managed to get them to a DVD-R and here's where it's a bit odd...

On my PC, the DVD-VCD is 100% fine, no probs.

On my Toshiba SD2800 DVD Player (which plays VCDs on CDRs fine) the DVD-VCD plays and looks great... no sound...

I am assuming it's that whole sampling rate deal, but wondered if anyone else making DVD-VCDs have any advice....
