  1. I burned many dvd's that were dvd5's with no problems. When I try to burn a dvd9, I get error messages when it burns to my +RW and/or my +R. I used DVDSHRINK first to compress the movie and then I am using COPYTODVD to try to burn them. Any ideas as to what is causing this? I really don't need any more drink coasters....LOL

btw--I am trying to burn "The Matrix". I was successfully able to burn Star Wars 2, which was a DVD9, and it worked great. Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

We'll be needing a LITTLE more information in order to provide a meaningful response.

  3. What else to you want to know??? After using DVDSHRINK to compress the movie, I used COPYTODVD to burn it and I get "write" error messages and it makes a coaster if I am using a +R to burn to, or it just fails if I am writing to an +RW.

    Sorry, I was too brief.

    Media type?

    DVD Drive?

    Version of Copy2DVD?

    Operating System?

Half the time it turns out to be the media, though. Unless you tell us you're using Riteks I'm going to suspect that right away.

  5. copytodvd has a problem writing to dvdrw media. spoke to tech support and said workaround was to install their lastest release (2.3.10 at that time). have not done so (2.3.7) cuz nero 5.5.10.42 burns them just fine.
have not had issues with quality dvdr-+ media using copytodvd.
