  1. I wanted to know if any one had written a guide on how to create DVD-like menu's for SVCD's? I had seen this one that was awesome, but I can't find it any more. I know they used the Princess Brides for their example. Does SVCD support arrows?

One to choose language, subtitles, and chapters with motion previews. Also is it possible to have two different audio formats. I am experimenting with 5.1 MPEG2 audio and as a secondary option, stereo MPEG1 audio. Both containing the same soundtrack, but in different formats. I tried listening to a SVCD with 2.0 MPEG2 audio, but it sounded wierd and uncrisp. So I wanted to back up The Italian Job and have both audio formats on the same disc. Is it possible?

  2. You can add one more audio track (mp2 format) through BBMPG AVI2MPG program.

Regarding how to use the AVI2MPG please visit site www.spawn.dk and see the guide there.

    Happy SVCD creation

I had to relocate the guide to a new url when I switched isp's, but the guide is properly linked to from this site in the DVD RIP section.

(S)VCDs do not support hotspot buttons (arrows) like DVDs do, at least there isn't really any hardware support for them. You can simulate hotspots though by physically drawing the "arrow" onto the still picture, and then use multiple stills for each menu. So your arrow is drawn next to PLAY for example. You hit NEXT and it switches to another still with an arrow next to CHAPTER SELECTION. They are two separate stills but it appears that you have just stayed on the same menu but the arrow has moved. So now you can use the NEXT and PREVIOUS track buttons like they were directional buttons, and then use the ENTER button to make your selection. My guide explains how to do all this.

Keep in mind though that some things have changed since I wrote that. Mostly, VCDEasy has improved.
