    yo, i'm wanting to buy a dvd burner...could i get some suggestions? also i'm wanting to know if dual layer writers are on the market..if not..when they might become available to buy.

    He said dual layer, not dual format.

    NEC 1300a for $20 delivered. Dual format 4x

    Iomega dual Format is Under $100 with Mail in rebate.

  7. Pioneer 106 is better then the NEC....NEC isn't bad just not as good.

    you might be right, and it may be an issue for those that will only have one dvd drive in their system. you see, the 1300a does not read scratched dvds very well. roms (esp Lite-On) have a much easier time. maybe the pioneer and other burner do not have this problem...don't know. do you do you have the pioneer? any issues with reading certain tracks (vobs) on scratched dvds? you have the Lite-On to rip, though. thanks.
    having said that, the NEC ND-1300a is one fantastic burner
