Hi,
I wonder anyone can help me to clarify this or not.
I have been told recently that if you use cheap DVD media, even you can burn but you will lose the data after a period of time. It is very threatening.
Can anyone tell me whether it is true or not...?
I am a bit confused....![]()

Find out who makes your DVD discs (there is software available in the tools section of this site) and check with the makers web site. Ritek says 30 years, and Taiyo Uden say 100 years but other makers make no guarantee's as to life so you take a real chance using their products.

Tks for advice. However, those famous manufacturers also produce DVD media for other oem brands. As far as I know, there is more than 10 different dies chemical that they ( ex. Ritek ) use for different oem brands. So, we must stick to the original brand name to ensure getting the quality media ?
