  1. Hi

I have an official downloaded Peter Gabriel 5.1 surround sound album, which is made up of protected .wma files. I don't have a 5.1 capable sound card in my PC at the moment and am wondering if there's any way I can burn these files onto DVD and play them in 5.1 through my home cinema system.

    Any ideas?

    Cheers

  3. I bought the virtual album via the Windows Media site months ago. I think it was part of a promotion for the surround sound capabilities of the, then new, Windows Media Player v9.
I could e-mail you one of the .wma files, but it wouldn't play for you because Media Player would need to download my license. I think there are demos available for download at http://windowsmedia.com/9series/DemoCenter/Default.asp if you want to give one of them a try.

    Thanks

i tried one and with vegas - i just used "record what you hear" as it played back and recorded all 6 channels in real time at 48khz / 16 bit ..

then assigned tracks -- ran them through a BBS plugin to restore some of the stuff that was lost in the wma encoding ... and compressed to ac3 at the same time ..

  5. Hi

Glad you had success. I'm quite new to this stuff, so must confess to being a bit baffled with your solution. Would you mind giving me a bit more information?

    Cheers
