I like editing commercials out of tv capture AVI files.
After doing so in Virtualdub, I save the AVI using direct stream copy for both audio and video.
BUT, I get a audio / video sync problem that seems to be accumlative. The beginning of the AVI is fine, but the end of it (usually 90 minutes later) is out of sync by about a half second or so.
Is there a better way to edit AVIs? Is this problem unavoidable?
Please don't jump down my throat. I've tried searching the forums for an answer already.
Thanks in advance.

I'd rather die of thirst, than drink from the cup of mediocrity.

Start capture when commercials end-stop capture when commercials begin. Trim off ends and then join. Then if you want, compress the file with codecs of your choice.
