i have an mpeg1 movie file which i ripped off a vcd using isobuster, what i want to do is convert this mpeg 1 movie to be dvd compliant and put it on to a dvd+r. i dont want to burn and keep it mpeg1 as i want to be able to send the finished dvd disc to my neice who at present only has a cheap dvd player which does not play vcd or mpeg1. how would i make the dvd using this mpeg 1 file bearing in mind the above?

VCD video is DVD compliant, meaning it can be put to DVD as is. VCD audio is 44.KHz sampling rate which is not fully DVD compliant, but will still play in many DVD players. If you want to ensure full compatibility then you need to resample the audio from 44.1 KHz to 48 KHz. then author and burn. There's several guides which can give you all the required steps, right here.

    Good luck.

It may or may not work on her player. heck, even a "complient" dvd may not work on her dvd player.
You could do what Zippy said, or take the mpeg1, send it thru tmpge to make it an mpeg 2 (with 48khz), then author it in dvd author, burn iyt with dvd author and ur done. I would get the name and model of her dvd player then check the players list to see if it works with +R discs.
