is it possible to put two small vob files (total size of vob files is 2gb) on one dvd-r without using an author ?
i just want to be able to put a disk in my stand alone and for it to play without going to a menu and to press skip and it plays the next film and thats it !!!

Re-Author, drag each title in turn to the new window, compress if necessary, shrink, burn
2 movies on 1 dvdr, no menus, no fuss. good luck.

I think that Noki has the right idea here. That way, the movies will not be dependent on a specific machine. Also, don't forget that all the chapter info is in the IFO files. The VOBs by themselves will just play from front to back with no chapter points without them.
