I am looking for a solution to the gradual degradation of video capture with a Hauppage WinTV Nova-T digital TV tuner. 10 to 20 minutes after starting capture, the sound occasionally hiccups but this does not appear to affect the recording. Eventually the picture also starts to disintegrate but recovers within a few seconds. After an hour of capturing the chances become greater and greater that the capturing process halts altogether.
I work around the problem by rebooting every hour, but I lose 2 or 3 minutes everytime I do.
The card runs on an Epox KMM80i combo board with an Athlon XP2700 processor and 1G PC2700 memory. The board features on-board AC-97 audio and built-in VGA with ProSavage 8 core.
Is this something one just has to accept with Windows or can I get round it by fitting a good video card or sound card?
