im completely new to dvd authoring. i have files on my hard drive in different formats (divx, mpeg, etc) and want to write them onto my dvd+r in a format that would allow me to view them on a dvd player.
i have 3 programs, roxio esy cd & dvd 6, nero 6 (with nerovision and mpeg tool), and sonic. i have ulead too but havent installed.
i have done a little research and i know in another topic someone asked the same question to which he was told to research on this web site. but for converting files it points me to a TMP program to convert.
my questions are.
1) do i need the TMP program. Nero points out that it would convert the files automatically (i think).
2) which program is the best among the 4 i have mentioned.

Other than saying that, look here and then here . for help.

I would author all to mpeg and then use tmpgenc dvd author and then nero to burn.
Guides on how to do all of these can be found in the tools section.
