I am looking for a source of some pretty cool looking motion backgounds for my first DVD project. I know I could use my own, but I am not known for my creativity.

There are a couple samples that come with DVD WS, but I would like some more to choose from. Can someone point to a site that would have lots of these for download?

Sites with "lots" of free samples don't exist. There are companies that sell large collections, like Digital Juice.

But here - they put a few free examples, rotated each month. http://www.mainconcept.com/texture_loops.shtml

PS - found through a simple search here: https://www.videohelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=178696&highlight=motion+background
    There's no place like 127.0.0.1

  3. Best source for motion backgrounds will have to be you! They are nothing more than a DVD-Compliant MPEG2.

  4. Note that the MainConcept loops use the Indeo Video 5 codec which is no longer shipped with Microsoft WinXP as of Sept 2002. From the Ligos website at:

    http://www.ligos.com/indeo.htm

"With the September 2002 update to Windows XP (known as Service Pack 1), Microsoft suspended distribution of the Indeo codecs as a base part of its operating system. This only affects users with new PCs that are shipping with Windows XP Service Pack 1, or clean installs of Windows XP SP1 on an older system."

Just be aware of this because if you don't have the Indeo codec, you will need to purchase it for $14.95 -- no free version is available.

I would instead recommend the DV-based AVI video loops available at
    http://kickbacktracks.jcmediaservices.com/index.htm

    Prices are reasonable too.
