Have movie spilt into 2 .m2v's with 2 ac3 files.

There are 24 chapters at 5 min each. When I import chapter list, it only shows 11 with the 11th running the remaining time of the movie.

Does Maestro have a problem with 2 .m2v's on the same timeline in respect to chapters?

Don't get me wrong. I synced up the audio with the 2 m2v's and it authors perfectly. I tested on DVD and all is fine. It's is just that it won't import the remaining 13 chapters.

I thought others had issues with 2 different files on timeline and chapters.

    Any insight/ideas/suggestions?

    Thanks a bunch

In addition, when the second m2v is on the timeline, you cannot see any of the frames.

I guess this all leads back to the chapter problem which is unsolved.

  3. Load the chapter list when you have switched to zero-based rather than asset based timecode. If that doesn't do it, the timecode of your movie files could have been patched to 00:00:00:00 by your ripping software and DVD Maestro is having trouble finding where your assets start.

A chapter list will not work if your timecode is not continguous, it will stop marking chapter points beyond the first segment of video if that's the case.

    My 2 cents

Thanks Free. Thats what I thought. Both assets must must have timcodes that are not continguous therefore after the last chapter in the first asset, it runs for the remainder of the movie.

Any workarounds that you could suggest in Maestro?

when 2 or more m2v's are on the same time line -- it will automatic switch to time code of first mpeg - what to do:

    1. load all your m2v (doesnt mater how many).

    2. create an audio sync track the standard way (right click on audio timeline and select sync)-- maestro will create a new audio ac3 long track .. and maestro puts it on your audio time line for you .. remove it from time line (leave in asset bin) ..

    3. highlight all m2v files on timeline and right click and select "export mpeg file" - this will then create a new mpeg long file which contains all your m2v's , it restamps them with continuous time code .. after the new mpeg long file is created -- remove all m2v files from timeline ...

    4. put your new long mpeg file on the time line, put your new long ac3 file on the timeline, import your chapter list .. go from there ..

    BJ_M = GENIUS!

Thanks, I appreciate it. It worked like a charm!

I always thought about using the MPEG exporter but wasn't really sure of its uses. I would of checked help but DVDMaestro Help file is corrupt or something.

But's thanks...I love learning new stuff in DVDMaestro.
