you can overclock them easy to 200mhz at room temp ...

Well, the guy emailed and said he wants at least 100 bucks for it...it didnt say if it was working properly or not and I assumed it was, but now i'm suspicious as to why he's asking for a low price.

thats a good price -- he has 4 (not a lot) but good feedbacks from other users who also have BIG feedback numbers --- he has at least sold one other item and it seems no issues ..

I would get it and if it doesnt work - well you are out 100$ less whatever you can sell it for on ebay ....

as a "side" deal -- you are not protected by ebay (not that you are much anyway) ..

I need a little bit of help...

Alright, the previous deal didnt work out so I bid on something else and won this.

This has 16 MB of memory and I want to use the expansion slot for a memory card...the question is, what do I look for? I have no clue what kind of card to search for. Will anything work? Thanks for the help.

You did notice that it says it is from St. Petersburgh in Russia? Otherwise that should be a fine device if you can read Cyrilic :P CF cards now go up to 2GB, they are expensive at that size, but that's a lot of storage. DOn't know what you plan to use it for, but 16MB is alot for PDA's. Pocket word processors make very small files. Too bad they don't have keyboards attached like the old Psion series5 and series7 machines. Those were way ahead of their time, and died do to lack of consumer vision.
Hope is the trap the world sets for you every night when you go to sleep and the only reason you have to get up in the morning is the hope that this day, things will get better... But they never do, do they?

I would think that 192 kbps should work fine. Heck you might even get it to play mpeg4 movies

As far as being in Russia, I don't know what to tell you. If he had more feedback, I wouldn't worry, but it was pretty low. Hopefully this person will be one of the honest ones, and hopefully the PDA will even be in English.

He seems to be an honest guy and has responded to all my emails very politely. As for the PDA language, I emailed him yesterday about that and he said:

The language of the PDA is english
Thanks for the heads up...I didnt even think about the language.

I know it depends on different variables...but how long does a shipment from russia usually take?? I have a felling I got ripped off $100...

  17. Well I do not know about your situation but after my little escrow situation and got a bit more information (thanks roundabout)......I did come to discover that Ukraine people are notorious for ripping people off. Now I know not all of them are bad but alot of the fake escrow sites have been linked to Ukraine.

Now about your question on how long it takes to get something from Russia. Well I bought a DVD from a guy in Finland.......however he was on vacation in russia and sent the DVD from there. Lets just say it isnt here yet......but I know this guy is legit. He keeps in contact with me every email and has even sent pictures of the receipt. He has a really high seller rating and pretty much only sells DVDs.

But he sent it out on the 10th of Oct. He didn't realize it at the time but he learned after he sent it out that it takes anywhere from 15-30 days for something to reach the US from Russia. He even said that if he knew that he would have sent his wife :P :P :P .............his english isn't up to par but what he meant to say is....he would have had his wife send it...hehehe

So just try to keep in touch with this guy and get worried if it gets to be longer then 25-30 days.

Good Luck and I hope you get your product. Also if it isn't in english like stated can't you just wipe the OS out and put on one you download? I would think you could do this just like a computer.......or a OS you bought I mean. I do not know anything about PDAs so I am probably way off.

I would have just not paid. Who cares about a few negatives? I'd rather know I made at least one smart decision after making a dumb one.

Shipping may take 8 weeks depending on the shipping method.

Should have used Paypal (you can get your money back if they screw you).

I got worried since it had been over a week since I paid and didnt recieve the PDA. Whenever I buy something from overseas, it only takes about a week...so I emailed the guy a few days ago and he didnt reply so I got a little scared. He just emailed back saying he was sick so didnt get on the internet much and said I should be getting it shortly...whew.

western union is the preffered method of most scammers on ebay.

ebay doesn't control it like it does Paypal, and all they need on their end is the account info that is set up when you pay Western Union, and they can go ANYWHERE in the world that has a WU office and withdrawl the money.... They don't even need to have it sent in their name. As long as they know the name it's in, the amount, the transaction number, and a few other tidbits of info, and WALLLLAAAA!! IT'S PAYDAY!!!!

Have a friend who ran into a scammer like this on ebay claiming to be from Belgium.... the old adage "If it looks like a duck and it quacks like a duck, then it's a DUCK" came to mind when he was emailing back and forth with this guy. He backed away, asked someone else (me) what they thought of the situation, and decided to cut off the communication.

He was moments away from putting $3000 on his credit card and sending it to WU for this item.... he thought better of it - the guy was using stolen ID's to list Harley Davidson motorcycles for half their actual value.... pretty good trick, until some people caught on and reported it to ebay....

I'm sure that someone lost money on those fake ads.... he/she was running over 100 of them with over 100 stolen id's.... probably harvested the id's from a fake email sent to unsuspecting users....
