  1. I made a DVD from imported miniDV tape from my Canon 300. imported to iMovie, made DVD with iDVD.

it runs on my computer and a regular DVD player to TV.

I wanted to copy it for friends, and tried to copy the DVD using Toast 6, but got some error messages and the copy only shows the Title Intro, so I wasted a DVD.

I copied the Video_TS and Audio_ts to my HD. can I make a DVD using these as I would an extracted DVD from MacTheRipper?

I don't want to keep wasteing blank DVD, just make 3 - 4 of my "Home Movie" (DVD) for friends.

    thanks rotuts

Simply use the Toast 6 Copy Tab. You should see your DVD in the CD/DVD Copy window. Click burn. Toast copies the DVD to the hard drive then ejects your disc and asks you to insert a blank one. It then burns the disc. If you want multiple copies you set the number you want in the window that appears when you click burn.

Be sure you are using Toast 6.0.3 or 6.0.5 and that you have buffer underrun protection checked on.

  3. thanks Frobozz,

but this is what I did and wasted a DVD. don't know iff it was pecular to the blank DVD or someother problem. I hve two burners in my G4dual. Ive copied many things with the toast copy (6.03) but I think only CD.s

I did copy the ddvd to my HD manually and if I don't hear more from yhou or others, Ill try it from there today later and see.

    thanks rotut

If the direct copy disk to disk didn't work try saving as an disk image (cmd+D), then burning the image with the copy tab. Also upgrade to version 6.05 (at Roxio.com), burn at 1x, and buy good quality media.

The error sounds like something I got with cheap media.

I agree with live4ever. If the direct copy didn't work, select the original DVD in the Copy tab and Save as Disc Image rather than clicking the burn button. Then burn the saved image file to a good quality blank media using the image file option in Toast Copy. Also be sure to have plenty of unused space on your hard drive (about twice the size of your DVD).
