  1. What audio and video bitrates do you use when you want to fit a DVD ripped movie in 2 80 min SVCDs ?

Question : Is the 128kbps audio stream incredibly lower in quality than the 224 kbps, when encoding in SVCD ?

i think somewhere in the vicinity of 1800kbps for video, with audio at 128kbps, will get u about 50-60 minutes of a movie on one 80min disc.

  3. i usually like to keep the bitrate hovering around 1600-1800 with 2pass VBR in TMPEG...i found that anything lower looks like absolute shit, especially on a poorly encoded DVD. Highest i have ever encoded it at was around 2200, would have looked nicer if the studio didnt do such a half-assed job of digitizing it from film

It depends on the time of the movie. 1300-2200 with 3-5pass VBR in CCE, lower than 1500 is critical and requires some filters. Audio always 128.
