  1. 1. what is the best program to make a 1:1 copy of a DVD (directly from my DVD rom to my DVD writer)? I tried recordnow but it stopped at 30% and said error reading from source or something like that, but I know that the source CD is fine, I just burnt it and watched the whole movie fine.

    2. what is the best program for resizing your DVD. Like from 1.85:1 to 16:9 or 2.05:1 to 16:9. or is there even one? and would you lose a whole lot of quality?

1 Use Nero, RecordNow DX, Ez CD Creator or any burning software that is DVD disk to disk enabled. Copying on the fly is not a reliable way to copy a disk tho. Most folks have problems, and end up copying to the HD first.

    2) No ideer. Butchering up a perfectly good movie is all you'd accomplish if u try to change it from wide screen to full screen or sumthin like that.

  3. You cant copy directly from a (CSS protected) DVD to a DVD-R, most burners will do it (assuming the DVD is less than 4.4 GB) but youll end up with an unplayable DVD-R.

DVDs contain CSS encryption that must be removed first..(ie with DVDdecypter)

Andy...if you read his first post closely, he mentions that he had just burnt and tested the source disk, so there was no encryption involved. I missed that part the first time I read it also.
