Was downloading this 100MB clip.rm from an ftp, but ftp died and the download stopped at 55.98MB.
RealOne doesn't even recognize it as realmedia. Tried the AVI/DIVX/MPG/ASF/WMV/RM videofixer, no go. Hoping some experienced gurus might have some trick or tip for me to at least view part of this clip. Thanks.

hmmmm what ftp software are u using? id suggest checking it to c if it has a resume feature! may let u get the rest of the file and save you alot of hastle, what use is half a file any way?
-
Well yes I can resume, but you see the ftp has died and its very very hard for me to get the file again. The only other option is to buy the VCD. But, I really want to preview the file. I understand AVI/MPG can be previewed with AVIpreview (went to their site), so i was crossing my fingers there would be some way for RM files too. Thanks.

rm and wmv/asf files do not have the problem you are encountering. Most likely, it is not a rm file. Try changing extn to avi and loading in virtualdub with options enabled or in divfix.

Thanks, it was worth the effort but no go. I'm quite sure it is an RM file though. But you're right its weird, RealOne doesn't even recognize it.
Anyways I'll try anything! -
Real Producer might be able to open it, but it's payware. Don't know if there's a demo available.
