SYMANTEC SAID that computers are damaging health because they are turning us all into absolute raving berserkers.
Amanda Hassall, Symantec PR for Symantec, said a survey has revealed that a quarter of computer users think their PC are not worth the hassle, while spams, scams, and too much email are driving us absolutely crazy.

Nearly 40 per cent of people get so livid at their machines that they start screaming and swearing at their PCs, and sometimes take it out on other people too.

The Symantec survey says slow performance and system crashes are the major bugbear, while spams, scams and too much email really drive people dotty. Pop up ads are infuriating, viruses are highly irritating, and files lost or deleted do our brains in.

The survey claims that PC paranoia is beginning to affect a third of the people they survey…

And Symantec has wheeled in a training director at the unlikely organization called the British Association of Anger Management. Mike Fisher claims that stress brought on by our PCs can easily turn to anger. Take deep breaths, he suggests, and take a break from your computer for a few minutes.

In fact, the whole story is making us so mad here at the INQUIRER that $&%#’’$&#&$…

That's one problem about falling computer prices. You get all these people that have no business buying one going out and getting one.

What kind of a man are you? The guy is unconscious in a coma and you don't have the guts to kiss his girlfriend?

Yeah, but it's all been true for us at one point in time. The old PC has gotten my undies in a bunch a few times.

Everything has been resolved and has been working correctly for some time now.

Some issues I have had and the solutions that I found.

My PC was running REALLY slow. Microsoft issued a patch that was not playing nice with my anti-virus software. It took me 2 weeks to find out that it was the security patch. I used a work around until MS updated the patch. They are idiots.

My motion menus would not work in Ulead DVD Workshop. Workshop would crash 1/2 way into the rendering of the menus. On a hunch, I bought new high performance memory (GEIL) with heat spreaders. This did the trick. It took me 6 months to figure that one out.

And many many more problems that I finally and thankfully figured out. Some people that I know have never have had issues. I guess I just use my pc too much. I'm also always trying out new software, so this just opens me up to software conflicts.

  6. This is what happens when competition is unfairly drummed out of the market. You get a company like Microsoft that is more than happy to give you what you want. The catch is, you get it when they want to give it to you(not when you need it) and it will resemble what you asked for, but more tailored to what they want you to have.

Our only salvation at this point is Linux(IMHO).

How many of these people suffer from severe road rage too? Some people simply can't cope with today's society. Unfortunately, they probably wouldn't be much good on a farm either. Where can we stick them?

Not that I don't curse when I screw up my computer...

And BJ_M - thanks for sharing. If you hadn't dredged that up who knows how many people would have missed it!

  13. If you saw that video, you'd think about doing the same.

And will everyone just shut up about post counts?
