  1. I wish I knew how to make my own thread here but dont so gonna use this one.
I have downloaded a movie but it claims to need a avi extender mind you my computer have every codec in existance on it never had this messege before. When I click to play the file anyway it goes to a website that wants me to signup for a bunch of services to get the proper download to play the movie. I tried downloading this movie from 3 other sources from 3 dif websites but still get the same crappy messege. I even gave up and tried to sign up for those services and it just got me no where its a scam as I thought. anyone know anyway to fix this so I can finally watch the movie ?

don't hijack threads with crap that isn't even related. go to the forum page from the list in the left column, choose the closest subforum to your problem and click new thread.

  4. It's probably a fake file & you should just delete it before it puts some virus or something on your computer.

  5. I tried a avi codec identifying tool called AFreeCodecVT but it said the videos arent avi format or files. so how is that possible?
Everytime I try to play it they claim to need a extension to play the avi codecs.

delete it and move on. it's obviously fake crap named just to social engineer people into installing virus/trojan software.

Anyone can rename a file with whatever extension they want.

It's a fake file trying to get you to go to a web site to download and install malware. Get rid of the file.

Simply load it into gspot and check for the amount a video it contains ... usually these dummy files only contain a few mb's ... the rest is dummy filler ... dead give away.

Because it ISN'T A REAL VIDEO.

Let me guess: it's supposed to be a movie that's just been released in the cinema?

The file is bait to get you to install a Trojan/give your credit card/collect your email for spam/whatever.

    Delete it.

When a film does get released online, there will be a million copies of it in standard formats.

Either 1) pay for the legit version, or 2) be patient.
