DVD Shrink & TMPEnc DVD

Has anyone tried to reauthor movie only with DVD Shrink and then use TMPGEnc DVD Author to create menus? Does it work well and does it affect quality of the movie? Will it recompress the movie even further after being burned to DVD+R?

Hi urbanlegend.

Even though I've never tried myself, I'd say it is entirely possible.

Two things to keep in mind though:
- If compression is required, remember to leave some room for the menu when you shrink the files.
This can be done by lowering the target size(Edit >> Preferences >> Target size >> custom), or by using "Ratio" instead of automatic.

- If you use the "Start/end" feature to crop titles, you will most likely end-up with a TMPGEnc DVD Author error message ("corrupt AC3 headers" or something similar).
This will not happen all the time, but just know it might happen.
