  1. I have a samsung dvd-811. It doesn't play vcd movies very well so I was wondering if I could either return the samsung and get another player (must have decoder and reg2) or get a vcd player? please give me tip

  3. kimpan,

It depends on what you want your player to do...

If excellent VCD playback is important to you, it may be better to get a separate stand-alone VCD player. Many companies make them; apart from the Chinese OEMs (e.g., Shinco and SAST), big name companies like Sony, Panasonic, etc., also make stand-alone VCD players.

Many DVD players also have very good VCD play back but there is no rule on what is good. It may be useful for you to get a high quality VCD and testing out your prospective players before deciding on a model.

  6. i disagree with you about your commments that cyberhome stuff is crap.

its not crap at all. i have one and dont get any problems at all.

still if you are prepared to pay over the odds for kit that says SONY or PANASONIC or a well known brand, go ahead, but personally I would rather pay a lot less and have the same features and have CYBERHOME on the front.
