HP ZE4420US Laptop problems

I am having trouble playing my DVD-r's on my laptop. The DVD-r's play fine in my standalone and on my personnel computer.

I am using Ritec 2x discs.

OS is XP Home and using either Powerdvd or Windows media player it stutters and locks up. It has 256mb with a 1.8 AMD CPU and 40gig hd.

My laptop plays regular dvd movies fine.

I'm using a ZE4101 and it plays DVD-R's and RW's with no problems. It may be some kind of problem with your DVD creation. I'm using some unknown brand of DVD's.
