Cheers- I've done that, but as i don't often create DVD's, i don't realy want to pay fdor the s/w, and most of it there is

Perhaps you can help me with another problem stemming form this- I've got a copy now of DVD authur- i want to put as many eps of the simpsons on as poss. OK, so i load them in, the s/w does its bit, i then get the VOB, IFO, BUP that i need, and i use it to burn to dvd.

All goes OK, but on playback, the later eps have audio sync problems, which progresivly gets worse throughout; any advise on this?

I had the same problem. I found that if I put the video directly into TMPGEnc DVD Author (without demuxing), and if I kept the video clips to 20 minutes or less then the audio will stay in sync (or not get far enough out of sync to be noticable. If you've already captured clips longer than 20 minutes, put the clip in TMPGEnc DVD Author and set the start and end point so less than 20 minutes is used. The put the same clip in and select the next 20 minutes.

I don't know why that works. I went through 3 days of hell trying to get anything to compile a DVD with the audio in sync. This is the only thing I've found that solves the problem for me. Note- you have to have a mpeg capture card to do this. You can't put avi in TMPGEnc Author.
